Program Overview

Ocean View Baseball is more than a high school program it is a proven developer of champions and young men of character. Over the past decade, the program has risen from Division 4 to Division 1, qualifying for the CIF playoffs every season and earning seven league championships, including three undefeated titles and five 20-win seasons.

This success is built on a non-negotiable foundation of Integrity, Attitude, and Effort. These values guide every practice, every challenge, and every athlete who wears an Ocean View uniform. We don’t just develop arms and bats, we develop leaders, teammates, and futures.

Our mission is to teach young men how to compete relentlessly for something greater than themselves, both on and off the field. Head Coach:

Coach Van Maanen is a highly accomplished and proven varsity baseball coach who has led Ocean View High School Baseball since 2015. During his tenure, he has guided the program from Division 4 to Division 1 status, compiling an impressive 185–125 overall record (.631 winning percentage) and leading the Seahawks to the CIF playoffs every season.

Under his leadership, Ocean View has captured seven league championships, including three undefeated league titles, and produced five 20-win seasons. Coach Van Maanen’s excellence has been recognized with multiple honors, including the 2019 Daily Pilot/LA Times Coach of the Year and selection as the 2022 North/South All-Star Game Head Coach.

Renowned for his commitment to player development, Coach Van Maanen has helped more than 50 athletes advance to the collegiate level, with 22 currently competing in college baseball. His track record includes 37 Division I signees and seven players who have gone on to professional baseball.

A former CIF Champion as both a player (2005) and coach (2013) at Cypress High School, Coach Van Maanen brings a winning pedigree, elite development expertise, and a relentless commitment to building championship programs rooted in character, discipline, and accountability.

Away from the field, he leads with the same passion and purpose, proudly married to his wife, Crystal, and raising three daughters who remind him every day why he coaches.
